Nick & Trixie have bonded over their love of horses. She’s had a crush on him for years. He sees her as beautiful, independent, and someone he treasures.
Nick is very much a family man but he doesn’t do relationships. He is very skittish about commitment. He’s been a bit traumatized by past drama in his family. He saw the fallout from his siblings’ heartbreak but while most of them have moved on from it, he never really did. He has been keeping his heart locked away from a life long love. Except Trixie has gotten under his skin.
When Trixie stays with him for a month while she works on getting her new business off the ground, their sizzling chemistry becomes too much for them to resist.
I love their low drama love story. They are not drama llamas. Trixie realizes if she moves too fast he’ll resist. Nick is like a skittish horse. He needs to be slowly introduced to change to realize it is what he wants too.
